The loop takes you along the Continental Divide and includes a section of the Savanna Portage.

It's in a state park so you need a day pass of annual pass.

You could definitely run this trail. There are very few ruts to be bothered with.

This is a loop trail that follows three named trails in the Savanna Portage State Park. The trail is wide and mostly grassy. Would be awesome run during the fall. The Savanna Portage Trail went between the St Louis River and the Mississippi. Nearly 7 miles of that trail are still maintained in this park. There is an overlook for the Continental Divide and many educational signs for the Savanna Portage.

There are more trails in the park. This was a great run in MN lake country.
