Overview

The Black Mountain Ultra Traverse 24 miler is a great introduction into unsupported races. This will be one of the toughest, yet most gratifying races you have ever run.

Need to Know

You'll be required to filter your water from only a few reliable streams that are along the course.

Description

From the time you start, you'll be immediately challenged with a long grueling climb to the summit of Mt. Mitchell, the tallest peak east of the Mississippi. This will be a gratifying 4,000 ft of elevation gain with amazing views.

After you summit Mt. Mitchell you'll return down the mountain via the Mt. Mitchell Trail. This trail has steep and rocky sections.

There will be no aid or support throughout this event.

Please note that this race was inspired by the mentality of winter ultra-races; a low key, no frills race that requires you to be 100% comfortable being alone and self-sufficient.
