Dogs Leashed
Features
Fall Colors · Lake · River/Creek · Wildlife
Overview
This run features plenty of views of the surrounding reservoirs without having to climb huge elevations.
Need to Know
Plenty of parking along the road where the trailhead is. No access to bathrooms.
Description
There are two major challenges to this run, 1) the constant up and down in elevation on very rocky terrain, and 2) lack of trail markings.
Be sure to do this 6 mile loop counterclockwise, otherwise the terrain can be very dangerous. We passed a few groups of runners and they struggled coming down some of the parts due to loose rocks. There is a QR map posted at the beginning of the trail but I highly recommend downloading the GPX map to your GPS watch or follow the
Trail Run Project mobile app.
Flora & Fauna
Beware of copperhead sneaks. Keep your dogs on the leash!
