Enter Choquequirao through the gate. You are already running on one of the old terraces below the Main Plaza. Views open up to the left across the Rio Apurimac valley. Head up the stairs to the next terrace above you and run along the terrace wall. Several stairs at regular intervals invite you to explore the upper and lower terraces. Reach Piquiwasi Trail and turn right if you are heading for the Main Plaza.
