Description
This trail starts off a small parking area, off
Lambert Road, and begins traveling west. The trail turns and follows along a small brook, where there's a small gorge and small waterfall. It travels through a rocky area, through Fern Gully, then begins climbing up the hill. While ascending the hill, be sure to keep an eye (on your right), for a small cave.
It appears that there may be some evidence of volcanic activity (in this area). Keep an eye out for rocks pock-marked with small holes; these rocks might be something called Scoria. There's little mention of this place being near a volcano; the closest volcano was in the Ossipee Mountains.
The trail continues past Devil's Den, a jumbled mass of broken ledge, as it climbs up to the
Gibban Trail.
