There is no camping on any kind in this park on the west side of the Big Sioux River. There is a canoe campsite on the east bank of the river but it is not accessible from the west side except by canoe.

This trail leaves the Vista Loop Trail not far from the Visitor Center. It then descends as a wide gravel path, past a vault toilet, to a junction with the River View Loop Trail. It then turns south, passes another junction with the River View Loop Trail, crosses a wooden bridge, and climbs to a good overlook of the Big Sioux River. It then descends again, passes two junctions with the Flood Plain Loop Trail, and ascends to its end at a junction with the Prairie View Loop Trail and another overlook for the Big Sioux River.
