Runner Notes

Loose gravel and scree near the top

Description

The trail starts with a moderate incline through forested areas. Compared to other routes, the Fujinomiya Trail has a relatively steep initial section, allowing climbers to gain elevation quickly. The path is well-maintained and marked, making it relatively easy to follow. Climbers navigate through switchbacks and rocky paths as they ascend the mountain.

Along the Fujinomiya Trail, there are several stations, designated by numbers, where climbers can rest and replenish their supplies. These stations provide basic facilities such as restrooms and areas to take a break. The stations on the Fujinomiya Trail are fewer compared to other routes, with the 6th and 8th stations being the most notable.

As climbers progress, the trail becomes steeper, and the terrain changes. The Fujinomiya Trail is characterized by sections with loose gravel and volcanic scree.

The final section of the Fujinomiya Trail is known as the "Ochudo," which translates to the "Great Circle." It is a wide, circular path that leads climbers to the summit of Mount Fuji. The Ochudo offers a scenic and relatively gentle ascent, allowing climbers to enjoy the surrounding landscapes as they approach the summit.
