Want great views and ample snack and meal options? This ridge run still takes effort, but by using two lifts definitely saves the knees and gets one high into the mountains.

This route can be done in either direction. From town, take the Sonnkogelbahn chairlift to the Sonnkogelbahn chairlift (if operating). Then follow the dirt doubletrack countrclockwise to string together the numerous restarants and snack bars along the ridge. You'll likely see paragliders launching from the highpoint at Schmittenhohe and soaring in thermals. There are good views in all directions along this ridge. After some steeper downhill sections, you'll come across a small pond and a few picnic tables. Continue downhill following trails along ski runs. End up at the top of the CitiXpress lift and take it back down to town.
