Visitors must pay for parking at the parking meter. There is a washroom (outhouse) at the far right of the parking lot.

The trail is very well marked with signposts. At the parking lot, there is a washroom on the far right along with a slope that leads down to the trailhead. Otherwise, a metal stairway leads down to the trailhead straight from the parking lot as well. Run past the Woodhaven Trail and an interpretive sign to reach the beginning of the loop. It is fine to go left (clockwise) or right (counterclockwise). The signage is clear and the rest of the trail is very easy to follow. If you are running clockwise, just keep right at any junction - and if you are running counterclockwise, keep left at any junction. There are a few uphills and downhills along the way, but the terrain is relatively stable.
