Need to Know

-As of 9/4/23-

Park/trails: While Spring House Park is now open to the public from dawn to dusk, the park and trails are still under further development, so this trail is subject to change. Expect to run through tall grass in the old farmland portions of the trail and pay attention to the weather as the stream crossing at mile 1.25 does not yet have footbridge. The stream crossing at mile 0.20 does have a footbridge.

Parking/restrooms: Temporary parking is in a gravel lot located across from 4146 E. Patterson Rd. Beavercreek, OH 45430. There are no permanent or temporary restrooms on site.

Nearby: After your run, enjoy a snack, drink, or soft serve ice cream at Jet Freeze located at 4014 E. Patterson Rd. Beavercreek, OH 45430 which is within running distance of the temporary parking lot.

Runner Notes

This route combines the Trailhead Access and Overlook Loop trails to create this route, and is intended to be done clockwise instead of the normal anti-clockwise as to make the best use of the inclines. If you start and end where the Trailhead Access meets the parking lot, you would have done a nearly perfect 3k. Footing consists of uneven compacted soil and tall grass in the flat sections (old farmland). The hill sections (undeveloped forest) consists of more even terrain with looser soil without grass. There are very few to no rocks or tree roots on this route.

Description

This route is the shortest in the newly opened Spring House Park in Beavercreek, OH. Winding in and out of shade, and undeveloped forest and old farmland, this route offers 1.8 miles of trail. Do not let its shorter size fool you as this route includes a couple of challenging moderate inclines at miles 1.05 and 1.25, and stream crossings at miles 0.20 and 1.25. See a wonderful overlook view of Northeast Beavercreek, OH atop the largest incline at mile 1.05.
