Need to Know
A comfort station is on the property and available in season; right across the road is a splendid local restaurant, Maryann & Wandas, which is HIGHLY recommended for its soups, sandwiches, and ice cream...a perfect after-hike treat!
Runner Notes
A good place to get in a short run!
Description
The trail begins and ends at Buford McCord Park in Bon Aqua, just east of the Community Center and the Post Office on TN Highway 100. It trends mostly north down a gentle incline to where a broad pasture is visible beyond a barbed wire fence. The path then heads back in roughly the same direction with a few twists and turns. There are identifying markers for the different trees in the grove, and plenty of benches on which to rest along the way. It's a nice side trip or warmup if you're also heading to nearby John Noel State Natural Area. The attached park has a playground and a picnic pavilion as well as a comfort station.
Flora & Fauna
Plenty of trees, the most distinctive of which are identified. Plenty of birds and small mammals.
