From the Top Rock Trail in Redding (The Bogus Brook Preserve) the trail winds over a knoll and decends markedly before climbing back up and over a ridge. A puncheon with sturdy planks spans a wet area and soon the trail rises gently to cross the Wiedel Meadows to a contemplative spot with rustic benches. The trail intersects Long Ridge Rd, and a tenth of a mile south the Ives Trail continues north toward Tarrywile Park from the Long Ridge drop off area.
