None that I know of
Overview
Very hard incline for the newer runners but totally worth it to get to the mine. After the mine coming back is all downhill. The first view of the lake is such a gorgeous place to just sit and take everything in.
Need to Know
$5 parking fee. Can pay with card at the office which has snacks/drinks and souvenirs. The restroom is part of a building not a porter potty. In the women's, there were 3-4 stalls, clean. There was a vending machine on the side.
Runner Notes
Watch for pine needles and fallen leaves as they are slippery
Description
The map was very easy to follow once you get the hang of it. Everything is color coded. Everything looks well-maintained and big enough to run shoulder and shoulder. Be careful going down because of pine straws and leaves on the ground can be slippery. The mine provides a nice cool off from the tough incline. It also has a bench. Once you get to the lake it is nice to sit on the ground and just take in the view.
Flora & Fauna
I assume all the normal. Gnats, frogs, turtle, maybe white tail deer. Pine trees.
History & Background
This was previously the home to a marble mining operation in the 1960s and 1970s.
