Trailside parking, La Crosse to Brodnax is paved, but the rest of the trail is fine gravel.
Need to Know
No parking or use fees. Well maintained trail the is partially paved and partially fine gravel. The bridges across the rivers are well maintained. The paved section between La Crosse to Brodnax does cross several quiet streets, so this section includes a number of stop signs. Very fine gravel. Being a former railway, all climbs are gentle slopes, but some are sustained. The trail has excellent drainage, but the fine gravel becomes sticky after heavy rains, so ideal conditions when the trail is relatively dry.
Runner Notes
Rail to trail with gentle slopes. The paved section is a bit uneven due to tree roots, so portions are slightly uneven.
