Overview
Enjoy two summits in one go. Just outside the park, these two peaks see fewer crowds than the more popular trails and peaks of Rocky.
Description
From the Saint Vrain Mountain TH, the trail starts off on an old road and enters the Indian Peaks Wilderness. The trail cuts over and follows along a creek. A long switchback leads to the right (north). The trail cuts back to the left, crosses the valley, and continues across the south side before returning to the drainage.
After a few switchbacks, the Saint Vrain Mountain Trail emerges above treeline and passes to the south of
Meadow Mountain. It briefly enters Rocky Mountain National Park. This section of the trail is not open to pets. The trail circles the west side of a small peak, gaining the east ridge of Saint Vrain Mountain. White boundary markers mark the top of Saint Vrain Mountain. Alongside these boundary markers is a user-created trail to the summit.
Head up to the summit and enjoy the views! From there, as you head back down, take a quick pop-up to
Meadow Mountain for one more summit! From there, cruise back to the parking area.
