Parts of this loop use country roads. There should be little to no traffic, but be careful when using them.

Overview

Great loop to get a full tour of the valley and its views. Along the way, you'll pass climbers ascending cliffs, families swimming in the creek and small hidden – but beautiful – villages.

Description

Start your journey from the main lot. The area is very popular for climbing: an overflow lot is also available, right before the main one. Follow the road until you see the inn on your left. The trail starts on your right. Follow it until the first fork, then start your ascent by making a right.

The trail is easy to follow until you reach a country road, at 2.8km/1.7mi. Follow the road to the village. Pay attention on the way as views onto the distant Mt Ventoux greet you through the nearby trees.

When reaching 3.36km/2.2mi, stop by Sivergues, a beautiful hidden village, nested at the top of the valley. The trail resumes outside the village, going back down to the creek.

Stay on the trail and follow the creek until 4.9km/3mi. There, start you way back by making a left to reach the upper part of the valley again. From this point on, stay on the main path for the rest of your journey.

The loop ends with a small bridge, across the creek. After passing the bridge, stop for a minute: a small trail goes down to the river level, offering a pleasant nature break.

When done, go back to the main trail and finish the loop. Treat yourself with a drink at the inn or simply relax by the creek to end your hike!

The trail is poorly marked and can be hard to follow. Make sure you have a proper map as your GPS signal can be inaccurate in the valley.
