Dogs Off-leash
Need to Know
Infrequently used trail so navigation can be challenging.
Description
This trail starts at the end of the road that runs through Cunningham Gulch. There is a trail marker that signifies its beginning.
It gently climbs to the southwest to get into the basin where everything opens up and the trail gets closer to the river (stream, at this point). The trail is faint and frequently hard to follow as it works its way through the basin toward the pass. There is another trail in this basin that can lead you astray. The pass will be to the south. Use the TRP app to track your movements and ensure you are moving in the right direction.
After going over the ridge the trail descends, continuing to the south, toward the Whitehead Trail. This connector provides the opportunity to loop around to the Highland Mary Lakes trail and form a big loop, or other opportunities if you head the other way.
