Need to Know

Street parking is available on Rainier and Country Place. Also at Christie Elementary when school is out.

Runner Notes

The trail is a wide paved path that is relatively level. The creek floods occasionally, so watch out for mud and debris after a storm.

Description

This part of Plano's Chisholm Trail goes around Big Lake Park. It connects to the rest of the trail system on the north and south ends. This is a really pretty section, and is popular with families and dog walkers. The small lake has fish, turtles, ducks, and other wildlife to watch. There is a playground on the south end behind Christie Elementary.

Flora & Fauna

Mostly fish, turtles, and ducks in and around the lake. Also wildflowers in the unmowed sections.
