Starting from the trail just behind La Forclaz paraglider launch area, head uphill steeply at first through forested terrain. Gain the ridgeline and be sure to detour to the Pointe de la Rochette outcrop for great views east across the valley of La Tournette.

Continue across flatter terrain until the turnoff for Rocher du Roux peak. This fainter trail accesses a bouldery area is a good spot from which to watch paragliders flying overhead. Retrace your steps back to the main trail and head northwards through gently rolling dense forest.

There is one very slightly exposed rocky area are where a narrow few paces are protected by a metal hand-wire. Soon the trees fall away and a pastoral scene emerges complete with grazing cows, wildflowers and milking sheds. Turn around at the Chalet de l'Aulp (typically serves lunch and dinner) and retrace your steps back to La Forclaz.
