Montana Trail Sec. 9: Wise River to Badger Pass

This section departs Wise River south bound and climbs steadily into the East Pioneer Mountains. The trail crosses over the crest of the range several times including at Kona Pass at 9418-ft, the highest point on this section, before descending to the end at Badger Pass. The trail passes by numerous high-altitude lakes and many old mining sites. This section is largely in the Beaverhead National Forest.
