This is a 20-mile figure eight trail that includes the full length of the Dutchman's Creek Trail #98 trail and a section of the Uwharrie National Recreation Trail.

The roller coaster terrain will provide no shortage of ups and downs. There are several creek crossings to fill up your water bottles. If you're graceful, you should be able step-stone your way across them without getting soggy socks.

Starting at the Rt. 24/27 Trailhead, the Dutchman's Creek Trail #98 sections are marked with yellow blazes and the Uwharrie National Recreation Trail is marked with white blazes. The figure eight provides hikers with the option of shortening their route if needed. There aren't many spectacular views when the trees are in leaf. Just enjoy the quiet of the green tunnel.
