From the Blanca Lake Trailhead, the steep trail leads you through huckleberry bushes at its highest point before you descend to Blanca Lake, a unique turquoise lake fed by the Columbia Glacier. You can camp on the ridge-line before you descend to Virgin Lake, but Blanca Lake is for day use only.
