Description
This trail is wide, well-signed, and easy to follow. It starts from the Kettle River Overlook on gravel Head of the Rapids Road. From there, it goes south along the east bank of the Kettle River (frozen in winter, raging in Spring, placid summer and Fall) to the Two Rivers watercraft campsite at the confluence of the Kettle and St. Croix Rivers. From there, it goes north along the St. Croix to Pine Ridge watercraft campsite, then heads inland to end at Gate 25 on Head of the Rapids Road. You can return to the trailhead at the overlook by either running west along the road or via the Kennedy Brook Trail.
