Runner Notes

Watch out for broken bog bridges, downed trees, sinking mud, and Sphagnum Moss islands.

Description

This trail starts from the trailhead, at Damon Crossing, and follows a crushed gravel path. The trail stays on the crushed gravel to the view platform. Here, there are some nice views over the bog. Be sure that you're well-provisioned and have good navigational skills (if you intend to continue from here). The trails are not maintained beyond the view platform. Most of this trail is a boggy mess, as you make your way through a carwash of Alders. The trail takes a right turn, following the old railbed, but is quickly lost. The tread of the trail eventually fizzles out. If you're ambitious, the trail might continue on to VT Corridor 2.
