There is no parking at the trailhead.

The trail starts behind the link chain. The first few hundred yards are through private property with permission to pass. Stay on trail paralleling the black fence to your right. After 0.2 miles, the trail crosses Emmons Creek over a bridge and enters Mount Diablo State Park. Getting increasingly steeper, the trail passes a large gate at 0.4 miles. Views up Pine Ridge to the north open up and you join Wall Point Road at 0.6 miles.
