This park is open daily from 5 AM to 10 PM. The Visitor Center is open daily from 9 AM to 5 PM. It's turf trails are open for hiking until winter trail operations begin (typically after 2–3 inches of snowfall). There are no fees or permits required to use this park or park in its parking lots.

Need to Know

The Poplar Creek Trail is lighted in the Fall; lights are on until 9 PM.

Description

This natural surface (turf, mowed grass) trail starts at Trail Intersection 1 just west of the large parking lot near the Visitor Center. It goes south from there - through Intersection 2 at the paved bike trail - and then loops back north to Trail Intersection 3 with the Lakeside Trail. It continues north from there across the paved bike trail (Trail Intersection 10) to end at Trail Intersection 11 just west of Trail Intersection 1. This is a good trail for running and is particularly nice when it's alight with Fall color in October.
