Description
This section of the Pinhoti Trail parallels Route 100, mostly staying along the west side of the highway. It follows the continuation of the old railroad bed. Much of this section is eroded and overgrown, so travel with caution. The trail comes out to a cow pasture and follows along the barbed wire fenceline. It turns slightly left (up Worsham Road), then back onto the old railroad bed.
It continues, then crosses over Starling Mill Road. At the railroad bridge, over Taliaferro Creek, the trail takes a sharp right (off the railroad bed). Be sure to follow the proper blazes, along this newly cut trail. The trail continues (over Route 100), and ends at the Highpoint Trailhead.
Section 20 begins at the kiosk.
