From the parking area, off Sand Springs Road NW, the trail heads southward. The trail zig-zags its way up towards
Snow Loop, then takes a sharp right (at
Snow Loop). It travels around the north side of a hilltop, then back to
Snow Loop. It follows
Snow Loop (for a short ways), then takes a sharp left (off
Snow Loop). Here, the trail descends from the hilltop, following a creek.
The trail continues to the lower spur of
Snow Loop and travels left. At the road intersection, continue straight across to continue along the trail. The trail follows an undefined path, keeping on the most obvious tread. Eventually, the trail arrives at Beech Creek; if you're not on a horse, then you're going to have to swim or ford the creek. If you manage to make the creek crossing, the trail continues through a narrow corridor of Pines. The trail comes out to an open area, where the it has been disrupted by logging.
You may have to find an alternative route through here. The trail crosses over Old Redmond Gap Road and continues back up to
Snow Loop. The trail turns left (onto
Snow Loop) and follows it until the trail turns right (off
Snow Loop). The trail follows a poorly defined route westward. A bunch of new firelines have been added, making the actual trail difficult to find.
The trail turns left down to
Snow Loop, then takes a right (onto
Snow Loop). Follow
Snow Loop for a short ways, then take the first left (off
Snow Loop) just after Swafford Hallow Pond. The trail continues until it reaches the parking area, off Berry Hill Road NW.
