Description
This is the trail to take when the trees along the Buffalo River are vivid with fall color! This trail begins and ends at the park's main parking lot. To do the trail counter-clockwise, go south from the parking lot, past the swimming pond, to a bridge over the Buffalo River. Cross the bridge to Intersection N on the other side. Go left (east) here, climb to the top of the bluff, and continue east to Intersection M. There is an overlook near here with a great view of an oxbow in the river.
Continue due east to Intersection L, swing north to Intersection K, descend and cross the river on a bridge. Then north a bit and west to Intersection F. From here, continue west through Intersections E, D, and C to Intersection B. At B, go right on the Savanna Cutoff to a dirt road, turn left, and follow the road to the parking lot.
