Section Of

Description

This section of the Pinhoti Trail starts at the Porter's Gap Trailhead and passes a few water sources, before reaching the Chandler Gap Campsite. There was at least one scorpion found at this campsite; so watch where you step. The trail travels around Chandler Springs down to Skyline Drive. Here, the trail turns left (onto Skyline Drive), crosses over Talladega Creek, and then back into the Talladega National Forest. The trail leaves Talladega County and crosses back into Clay County. It passes a campsite, with a few water sources. At Clairmont Gap, the trail crosses the road and turns left (into the woods). The trail travels for a ways, before reaching the next campsite. There's one more campsite, near Skyway Loop, before the trail descends to Adam's Gap. This section of the trail ends at Adam's Gap.
