What I assume is Buffalo Creek on the Buffalo Creek-Collie Ridge loop.

This is on an incline somewhere between mile five and six of the Buffalo Creek-Collie Ridge loop. This trail is either some variation of rocky (pictured), muddy, or sandy.

A cool burl on an ascent, leaving the creek not too far back. Most of the trail from this point on is gravel and wider than singletrack.

In the last two miles or so of the loop, it's the only solid water source along the Buffalo Creek-Collie Ridge loop. Pretty cold. Photo taken in early September.

This is the First Creek backcountry campsite #2 (also called Campsite B) off of the First Creek Trail. The lake is really more like a marsh, at least in September.

An interesting stop where where you can see Barkley Canal (connecting Kentucky Lake and Cumberland River), the bridge that runs over it, and some pretty cool graffiti.
